ABSTRACT

We assume that the vehicle is recurrent, i.e., it will return to its point of origin. Ÿis is consistent with the notion that naval vessels have at least one common port-of-call. Behavior of this type can be described by collections of cycles or loops within a compact subset of ℝn. We use a hybrid statistical approach that incorporates a collection of linear statistical models combined with a discrete statistical model that governs transitions from one linear model to another.
