How do we foster an innovative culture to capture ideas and then refine, evaluate, retain, and implement them effectively? How should we reward people for their contributions?
In 1878, a young Thomas Edison was experimenting with a system to receive, record, and replay telegraph messages at high speed. This work had applications for the Western Union Company, which paid Edison to pursue incremental improvements.
