ABSTRACT
Electrocardiographic electrodes are commonly seen at autopsy during external examination. Their placement may represent attempts to confirm life extinct or to take a 12-lead electrocardiogram, and hence their positioning can be highly variable. The position of the electrodes should be noted on external examination.
