ABSTRACT

It is common knowledge that nothing is absolutely secure, without any fear of compromise ever. An evaluation or assessment of quality or accuracy of a system, mechanism or method is usually a snapshot in time. With the passage of time after a system is initially built, the environment changes, new vulnerabilities arise and accordingly the evaluation must be performed again after parameter tuning. However, it is worth mentioning that the information obtained during one evaluation process plays a significant role in subsequent evaluations as well as in the final end product that results. In this chapter, we discuss 16 different evaluation measures under three broad categories: correctness, data and efficiency. Figure 7.1 shows these measures in a three-dimensional axis diagram.
