ABSTRACT
Blood pressure (BP) gradually rises with age. Within populations, BP is distributed normally as a continuous variable. Hypertension is defined as a BP outside of a normal range. BP varies enormously both day-to-day and hour-to-hour based on a number of factors. For this reason, one should not rush to diagnose hypertension without a number of raised readings.
