ABSTRACT

The ECG will show left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) if aortic stenosis is signifi cant, often with ST segment changes of left ventricular strain. Unless there is left ventricular failure (LVF) the chest X-ray will show a normal transverse diameter of the heart. If LVF has supervened there will be cardiomegaly and lung fi eld changes. Specialist investigation is by coronary angiography and ultrasound.
