ABSTRACT

Format You will be given the brief once you have entered the station and the examiner will introduce you to the child and parent/carer. Remember this station comprises two assessments, so you will have 6 minutes to perform your developmental assessment, and 3 minutes for discussion with the examiner. It can be difficult to perform a comprehensive developmental assessment within

this short time, but by using a systematic approach you should be able to make a good estimate of the child’s age, or if this has been given to you, assess whether the child’s development is normal. The examiners will offer direction if appropriate.
