ABSTRACT

Burkitt lymphoma is a well-defined clinicopathological entity.1-4 This highly aggressive B cell neoplasm occurs in three forms: endemic, an Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-related lymphoma of African children; acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS)-related, in association with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV); and sporadic, a lymphoma which characteristically occurs in childhood or early adult life, without the above features. This latter group is the subject of this chapter.
