Infiltrating the skin Before you start Confirm with your patient which lesion or lesions you are going to treat. It is recommended that you mark the lesion with a marker pen. This is particularly important if it lies deep to the skin. Once you have infiltrated a lesion, it is sometimes difficult to identify it, which is why preoperative marking is important.
