ABSTRACT
Diseases of the colon, rectum and anus include cancers and inflammatory bowel disease, as well as perianal disorders. A careful history and clinical examination aided by simple sigmoidoscopy and proctoscopy, as described in detail in Signs and Symptoms, will often reveal the diagnosis.
