ABSTRACT

Fruit juice has become one of the main sources of dietary phytochemicals, and according to different organizations, the consumption of a glass (~200 mL) of juice can be considered as one portion of fruit or vegetable [1]. In 2009, the global world juice consumption was estimated at 40,580 million liters, with Europe (27.8%) and the United States (23.5%) as the largest consumers [1]. Worldwide, orange juice is the main fruit juice consumed, representing 54% of the juice consumed in 2010 in the United States [2].
