ABSTRACT

Chapter 2 explained the reasons why a consultative approach is needed to run programs today. Because of the nature, size, and complexity of programs today it is imperative that a program focus on all three objectives outlined in Section 2.5, which are execution diligence, insight, and a project management community of practice. Within each of these objectives is a core set of guiding principles that make up the consultative approach. Figure 3.1 shows these eight guiding principles in the context of the objectives.
