ABSTRACT
Remote sensing (RS) image fusion is a relatively new discipline lying within the generic framework of data fusion. The common perspective is remote sensing, regarded as the ensemble of tools and techniques aimed at extracting information on the Earth's surface and the overlying . Thus, RS image fusion is the synergic combination of two or more image datasets, aimed at producing a knowledge of the phenomena under investigation better than the knowledge achievable from individual datasets.
