ABSTRACT

Syngas production is one of the main base processes for chemical industry, playing amajorroleinquiteafewdifferentprocessesrangingfromammonia,methanol, aldehydes,andgastoliquid(GTL)applications[1-3].Alltheseprocessesareenergy intensiveandrequiredifferentH2/CO ratios. Decreasing the energy and raw material intensityintheseprocessesisanecessarydirectiontomovetoamoresustainable andcompetitivechemicalproduction,whichwellintegratesalsowiththegeneral objectiveofenablingtheuseforbothenergyandchemicalutilizationsofunexploited resources,particularlyremotestrainednaturalgasorshalegasthatcannotbeconnected to a pipeline network.
