ABSTRACT

After the Synthesis problem is solved, the system begins to grow along two paths: addition of instances of elements, most often Tools, Sources, and Packaged Payloads, and replication of the system as a whole. For instance, Edison’s system grew rapidly through the increased demand for light bulbs (Tools) and generators (Sources) that fed the bulbs with electricity within the same power distribution area. As a result, power (Packaged Payload) generation and consumption grew as well. Additionally, Edison’s company built and installed complete electricity systems in places where coal could be delivered easily.
