ABSTRACT

A biosensor is an analytical device that converts the modication of the physical or chemical properties of a biomatrix into an electric or other kinds of signal whose amplitude depends on the concentration of dened analytes in the solution [1,2]. In other words, biosensors exhibit two elementary parts: the sensitive part where specic biomaterial events take place and a transducing system that mediates these biomaterial events into quanti- able signal. A schematic diagram of a biosensor is shown in Figure 3.1.
