ABSTRACT

Big data is a term in widespread use and refers to datasets that have grown so large that they become difficult to store, manage, share, analyze, and visualize using typical database software tools (White, 2012). According to IBM (2012), big data span four dimensions: volume (data quantity), velocity (real-time processing), variety (multiple sources), and veracity (data accuracy). The tremendous growth of big data during the last few decades is largely a consequence of the increased capacity and plummeting costs associated with computing and information technology.
