ABSTRACT
Fungi are eukaryotic organisms and contain membrane-bound cell organelles.1 They do not contain chlorophyll normally found in plants and algae and are, therefore, incapable of autotrophic nutrition; rather they survive by means of heterotrophic nutrition.1 Nutrients are absorbed directly through the cell walls after extracellular breakdown of complex molecules by enzymes secreted into its environment.1
