ABSTRACT
If this chapter seems disconnected, it is because there are many dierent approaches being used to detect and attack cancer. Researchers are moving in many dierent directions. is may seem unorganized and unsettling to students who are learning the basic concepts. From the student’s perspective, it may seem like a poorly organized stampede. Nobody knows the best approach(es) for treating this disease. It is a stampede to the nish line, as shown in Figure 9.1. Which one(s) will reach the nish-line rst? Nobody knows for sure. is is the stampede of the well-oiled nanomachine as it swings into action.
