ABSTRACT

Initially, the list was available to students and individuals who happened to have an e-mail account at a university or college, since Internet service at that time was relegated mostly to educational institutions that were linked together for research purposes. However, as the Internet expanded and grew into the 1990s, so did access to these mailing lists and, later, Web sites. With the burgeoning Internet, the CoCo community would nd a place to not only survive but to eventually thrive. ere were other possibilities for the future, however.
