ABSTRACT
In acute ischemic stroke setting, imaging integrates the clinical evaluation in order to make a correct diagnosis and, according to the emerging view, to guide therapeutic decision making.
In reviewing stroke imaging, we will proceed through the critical issues that urgent imaging must address. For each issue, all main available imaging modalities will be comparatively evaluated, with regard to clinical evidence about their diagnostic and, possibly, prognostic role.
