ABSTRACT

The Cochrane Collaboration is an international healthcare charity whose aim is to support the production and maintenance of systematic reviews that can inform treatment decisions across a broad range of healthcare subjects. One of the rst specialty groups to be formed was the Cochrane Stroke Group, which was established in 1993. The Cochrane Stroke Group has now developed about 160 reviews covering all aspects of stroke treatment. These reviews are featured very frequently in clinical practice guidelines and have been generally well cited (the CSG citation index is currently 4.139). This chapter provides some examples of important reviews and discusses some of the future challenges.
