ABSTRACT

The major groups of drilling tools are drills, reamers, counterbores, and (threading) taps (Metal Cutting Tool Handbook 1989). The distinguished features of the drilling tools are the following:

1.All drilling tools are end cutting tools intended to make various types of holes (bores). 2. The prime cutting motion is rotation applied to the tool or to the workpiece or to both,

and the feed motion is applied to the tool or to the workpiece along the longitudinal axis of the tool.
