ABSTRACT

Currently the demand for lithium rechargeable batteries is increasing rapidly in applications such as cellular phones, camcorders, and laptop computers due to their higher voltage (nominal voltage for lithium-ion battery (LIB): 3.6 V), higher energy density or specic energy (125 Wh kg−1 L−1), and longer cycle life (>1000 cycles). They show high energy density but relatively low power density. The key point of enhancing the performance of this system is to improve both electronic conductivity and ionic conductivity performance of the electrodes.
