ABSTRACT
Forest and water issues are tightly linked. In the United States, more than 60% of drinking water originates from forested watersheds. Many forestry activities in upstream watersheds will inevitably affect water quantity, quality, timing, and aquatic life in downstream. Therefore, forested watershed protection and the management of natural resources are matters of vital interest to the Nation, societies, and individuals.
