ABSTRACT
Typical P-h plots at different loads of the present sample are given in Figure 16.2a. At higher nanoindentation loads, there was an expected large residual depth and, consequently, a larger area encompassed by the P-h plot, implying dissipation of a higher amount of energy as compared to those
involved at lower or intermediate loads. The FESEM photomicrograph of a typical nanoindent made at 1000 mN load is shown in Figure 16.2b. The indentation area, however, looked smooth without any imminent sign of severe damage growth or accumulation.
