ABSTRACT
E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Company is one of the oldest U.S. corporations. It has its roots in the French laboratory (and bedroom) of Antoine Lavoisier. The initial manufacturing efforts were focused on gun powder and dynamite. But the biggest bang occurred when the research and development laboratory was founded in 1902.
