ABSTRACT

Radiation-induced damage (RID or radiation damage) normally refers to the damage that is due to ‘ionizing’ damage, typically caused or triggered by neutrons, ions, electrons, and gamma ray sources. The context covers the traditional denition of radiation damage, as dened in ISO 60825, with a wider framework of ‘radiation-induced damage’. This book also covers other forms of radiation-induced damage in material processing as well as general radiation failures.
