Conclusions And Outlook
Langmuir-Blodgett film structure is known to depend strongly on the external deposition parameters like surface pressure, temperature, pH of the aqueous subphase etc. LB film research has been predominantly focused on controlling these experimental parameters to obtain perfectly periodic LB films. Compared to that, very few reports exist on plausible methods of manipulating the structure and bonding at the molecular level to tune film morphology at the micrometer scale. The work described in this book is an effort to relate the morphology and growth of such metal-organic multilayers to some aspects of their molecular structure, and to observe the effect of a change in the latter on the former.
