ABSTRACT

There is a lot of appeal in being active in gastronomy. Anyone who loves foods and beverages will quickly agree to that. Yet, however interesting it is and always has been it is also a new scientific field that may even be one of the most ill-defined. The origin of the word is Greek and refers to the laws of the stomach; that surely does not sound like a feast, yet there is no reason to doubt that the ancient Greeks were good gastronomes.
