ABSTRACT

The literature has shown that each time a major new architecture is discovered the event has been accompanied by the emergence of a plethora of new properties, concepts, applications, products, and activities, all of which have led to new technologies and enhanced quality of life. Over time, macromolecular architectures have evolved, leading to well-known classes of thermoplastic or thermoset polymers, beginning with linear, cross-linked, branched, and now dendritic topologies, as illustrated in Figure 4.1 [1].
