ABSTRACT
T h e analysis of r x c contingency tables when either r or c or bo th
are greater than 2, presents special problems not met i n the preceding
chapter. F o r example, the interpretation of the outcome of a ch i -
square test for independence i n the case of a 2 x 2 table can clearly
be made i n terms of the equality or otherwise of two proportions.
