ABSTRACT

Physical activity (exercise) is dened as bodily movements produced by the contraction of skeletal muscles resulting in an increase in energy expenditure above that required to sustain the other functions of the body. Exercise is a physical activity that is planned, structured, repetitive, and purposive. When well designed, it improves physical tness. The degree to which energy expenditure is increased depends on the activities selected for the exercise period, the intensity of the exercise, and the duration of the exercise.
