ABSTRACT
This chapter provides personal reflections and lessons I learned through my journey into the field of statistical genetics and genomics in the last few years. I will discuss the importance of being both a statistician and a scientist; challenges and opportunities in analyzing massive genetic and genomic data, and training the next generation statistical genetic and genomic scientists in the ’omics era.
