ABSTRACT
Oracle lumps together several disparate application areas into what they have designated as Oracle Business Analytics, as shown in Figure 2.1. As a purist, and for the sake of ease of understanding, I have decided that Chapter 2 will focus on just those areas that most IT folks do consider to be analytically oriented-business intelligence and analytic applications, highlighted in Figure 2.1 by using a darker gray coloring.
