ABSTRACT
Studies of complex samples are the most demanding tasks in analytical methods and therefore must combine high-resolution separation systems with an equally advanced, selective detector. During the last decades, planar forms of electrophoresis, such as polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and agarose gel electrophoresis, additionally supported with imaging documentation systems, are very useful tools for separation and identication of the complex biological samples.
