ABSTRACT
This chapter brings us to closure on this book Data Mining: Technologies, Techniques, Tools, and Trends. We have discussed various technologies for data mining, described the concepts and techniques in data mining, and provided an overview of some of the trends in data mining. In particular, we provided an overview of a framework for data mining and then introduced various concepts with respect to this framework. As stated throughout this book, data mining is an integration of multiple technologies, and having good data is key to data mining. This chapter summarizes the contents of this book and then provides an overview of the challenges and directions in data mining. We also give the reader some suggestions on where to go from here.
