ABSTRACT

Information and communication technology (ICT) will be the key foundational component for intelligent cities of the future. ese ICT components will be closely interconnected with one another to facilitate efficient coordination among the various city agencies in real time. However, for this to happen, it is critical to ensure the safety and security of the underlying information technology (IT) infrastructure. “According to 2013 Symantec Security threat report, 22% of the targeted security attacks to aimed at governments and energy or utilities companies, while governments and healthcare institutions are the target of 24% identity breaches” [1]. is fact sheds light on the importance of security for the IT infrastructure of intelligent cities.
