ABSTRACT
All that happens on the Earth as a planet depends upon its history, a geological history. The Earth had its origin as a part of our Solar System some 4.5 billion years (BY) ago. The creation of the Sun and Solar System planets are dated to 5.0 BY ago. Thus, from the very beginning the history of Earth has depended on the history of our star, the
Sun, and the latter’s energy supply. Another source of energy are chemical reactions on the planet, which were originally geo-chemical and later biochemical reactions start their action as well. These later reactions and a biogenic-related circulation of molecules became in Earth’s history an essential component of its chemistry in general.
