ABSTRACT
In this chapter we collect basic results about singularities of pairs that consist of a variety and a Q-divisor on it. In some cases, the Q-divisor is replaced by a formal linear combination of mobile linear systems. We also present some well-known results about multiplier ideal sheaves and centers of log canonical singularities. Our primary sources are [29], [30], [72], [73], [74] and [77].
