ABSTRACT
The use of agents in research has emerged from developments in Artificial Intelligence through the need to define proactive structures that require intelligent behaviour. These structures can range from very simple reactive entities , which can be globally intelligent, to complex algorithms, which use learning techniques to become more efficient in solv ing problems autonomously. Moreover, the application of agents into commercial appli cations is now becoming noticed as interface agents and search agents for the Internet became available.
