ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology expands itself as one of the major area of science [1, 2]. An important and exciting aspect of nanomedicine is the use of nanoparticle for target specific drug delivery systems and it allows a new innovative therapeutic approaches. Due to their small size, these drug delivery systems are promising tools in therapeutic approaches such as selective or targeted drug delivery towards a specific tissue or organ. It also enhances drug transport across biological barriers and intracellular drug delivery. Nanotherapeutic agents work successfully against traditional drugs, which exhibits very less bioavailability and are often associated with gastro-intestinal side effects. Nanotherapeutics improves the delivery of drugs that cannot normally be taken orally and it also improves the safety and efficacy of low molecular weight drugs. It also improves the stability and absorption of proteins that normally cannot be taken orally.
