DEFINITION Dupuytren’s disease (DD) is a benign fibroproliferative disorder that occurs in the fascia of the palm and digits, resulting in nodules, cords, and contractures of the fingers. Guillaume Dupuytren, a French surgeon, clarified the nature of this disease in 1831.
