ABSTRACT
According to FAO [7], the total growing season of winter wheat ranges from 180 to 250 days. Mean daily temperature for optimum growth and tillering is between 15 and 20 °C. The crop is moderately tolerant to soil salinity. For high yields, water requirements of wheat vary from 450 to 650 mm depending on climatic conditions and length of the growing season.
