ABSTRACT
Introduction This case study is based upon the method employed to assess the human factors adequacy of part of a large nuclear reprocessing plant. It was considered necess ary to examine the whole plant to ensure that human factors design deficiencies would not exist which could lead to operator errors resulting in radiological incidents, personal injury, damage to the plant or equipment, loss of production, or an increase in maintenance or industrial safety accidents .
