ABSTRACT

For this Atlas, photographs of teeth samples preserved in  tubes filled with 10% formalin solution were taken under a spotlight on a table with infinite black background (Figs  2.2,  2.3). The shots were taken with a professional digital camera fixed on a mini tripod apparatus to prevent the vibration of the camera. Teeth were attached using putty paste to the end portion of a thin metal rod, which was perpendicularly located the same distance from the camera (12.5 cm), due to the macro focus distance of the camera. More than one photograph was taken from each tooth surface and the photographs were then transferred to a computer for selection, identification and coding procedures. Photographs selected in this manner were reorganized according to visible light adjustments and were adjusted to 300 dpi JPEG format for appropriate printing.
