ABSTRACT

The preceding chapters in this book established the concept of the scientific method, the development of a research question and how to perform a literature review. This chapter will discuss how each of these components can bring to bear on the research proposal that will be used for presentation to the team, to the leadership, to the funding agency, and to the ethics board. More importantly, the proposal will be a key record of intended plan for the research study that can be referred to throughout the project as a check to ensure that the work is on course. It ensures the team has considered all stages of the research process – in essence that due diligence has been done.
