ABSTRACT

Many elegant control approaches have been employed for the design of guidance and control systems for the longitudinal dynamics of AHVs in the past few years. Based on the models obtained by approximate linearization around specified trim condition or input/output linearization technique, many advanced control methods, such as adaptive control [57], robust control [58, 60, 61, 206], sliding mode control [62], and back-stepping control [207], have been employed for AHVs. Recently, artificial-intelligence-based method has become an active research topic and is widely

investigated in literature, such as neural-network-based control [207, 208] and fuzzylogic-based control [209, 210, 211, 212].
