ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION The need for metal halide lamps with high efficacy, good lumen maintenance and long life is ever
increasing. This has led to the development in recent years of arc tubes with high wall loading in order to achieve the desired performance. The disadvantages associated with increasing arc tube wall loading are increased voltage rise, a higher rate of lumens loss and shorter life.
