OPTICAL SIMULATION AND DESIGN We investigated light propagation process in OLED with various interface using three-dimensional

optical simulation and confirmed that pyramid shaped array has the maximum improvement effect. Figure 1 shows OLED structure model that we used for the optical simulation. The OLED model has a simple structure which consists of a substrate with micro shape / indium tin oxide (ITO) / two organic layers / metal cathode, and the following assumption is set forth. The metal electrode is a plane ideal reflector (100% reflectance). The refractive indices of the two organic layers, ITO and substrate are defined as 1.7, 2.0 and 1.53 respectively. An imaginary Lambertian source is put on the interface between the two organic layers.
